Salt Fire Herring School Tea Bowl 2
Salt-fired tea bowl featuring hand-painted figures.
This piece was fired in Cathi Jefferson’s salt kiln in the Cowichan Valley of Vancouver Island. This style of atmospheric firing owes it’s distinctive “orange peel” texture to the salt added to the active fire, which vaporizes and deposits it’s on the pots. This produces a glazed surface rich in texture and colour variation.
*microwave safe, handwash for added longevity
Approximate Dimensions:
3” h x 4” rim, 3” base diameter
Order pick-up is available at Hands on Clay Collective, Victoria
